日本の茶事では、亭主の想いを客人に伝えるため、茶室で使うすべての茶道具に意味を見立てる。私は大雄峰と名付けられた茶杓、焼き模様を彩雲に見立てた水差し、ひび割れや釉薬の変化を山影に見立てた茶器を揃えた。床の間にはその時の季節や情景を表現する。小さな空間に雄大な自然を創りもてなす様は、まるで客人を一つの旅に招くようだ。亭主が作り出した景色は想像上かも知れないが、客人はその限られた空間の中に限りない風景を感じ取ることができる。人の想いがそこに新たな景色を立ち上げているのだ。私はまだ見ぬ北海道の原風景の旅へ客人を招くため、床の間に飾る写真を揃えた。

In Japanese tea ceremonies, every tea utensil in the tearoom is thoughtfully selected to convey the host's sentiments to their guests. I have assembled a bamboo tea scoop named "Daiyūhō" (Great Peak) a water jar whose burn patterns evoke images of celestial clouds, and a tea bowl with crackling glaze that suggests mountain shadows. The alcove in the tearoom reflects the season and scenery of the moment. This intimate space, designed to immerse guests in the vastness of nature, feels as though it invites them on a journey. The landscape created by the host may be imagined, yet within this confined space, guests can experience boundless scenery. The host's intentions give rise to new landscapes in the guests' minds. To invite guests on a journey to the pristine landscapes of Hokkaido that I have yet to see, I have curated photographs to adorn the alcove.
